GALVESTON ISLAND, TEXAS. The Grand 1894 Opera House’s holiday season performances continue Sunday, December 2 with a special, 4pm matinee concert of Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis. Highlighted with special guest vocalists – Veronica Swift and Vuyo Sotashe – the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, led by the world-renowned Wynton Marsalis, is comprised of 15 of the finest soloists, ensemble players and arrangers of today’s jazz music.  For almost three decades, this Manhattan-based big band has been spreading the gospel of jazz virtues from its early blues roots to swing and amazing improvisations. Certainly, you too will find that this will be a performance of potent, passionate and superbly-crafted music! The performance is sponsored in part by Susan and Robert Lynch and also supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts and Texas Commission on the Arts.
